The HeartMath organisation has demonstrated the link between a state of clear loving awareness and organised periodicity in the human heart beat. When this peaceful but active emotional state is practiced, it causes the heart to resonate at frequencies which have been proven by mainstream medical research to strengthen the heart and circulation. Research papers published on the Heartmath website are available they are VERY much worth a look... In particular ...

In the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), the Sympathetic fires at a frequency of 0-0.2Hz (slower than 0.1Hz - i.e. 1 beat per 10 seconds), and the Parasympathetic fires at a frequency of 0.15-0.5Hz (mainly 0.25Hz - i.e. 1 beat every 4 seconds). When in balance, the ANS cycles every 10 to 12 seconds. This frequency range is exactly the same as found in the "Mid Tide" Craniosacral Rhythm - also see craniosacral discussion paper.

Slime mold homepage - Slime molds are a strange very primitive organism which consist of cytoplasm (cell fluids) and nuclei, but without cell walls. Instead of operating as individual cells, the nuclei act as if they are an organism, and self-organise. Each part of the cytoplasm takes on a specific function, despite there being no apparent reason why it should do so, or have access to information to tell it how to act in support of the "colony" which it is in. Slime molds also have a phenomenon called Rhythmic Protoplasmic Streaming, which occurs every 100 seconds. It is a fundamental rhythm of life, and just happens to be the same period as the "Long Tide" in CST
