  • The Body - AIDS and HIV Information Resource
  • All Allergy - information on eczema, asthma, allergic rhinitis and other allergic disorders. The site provides tips on how to reduce symptoms, including an analysis of food additives
  • Healthfinder - an index of health-related Web sites and Internet resources, provided and rated by the American Department of Health and Human Services. They are primarily selected from among universities and non-profit organisations, but also include commercial sites which provide free information not available through a government entity. Most of the entries also include contact details and descriptions of the organisations which produced the information listed
  • Internet Pharmaceutical Drug List
  • The Virtual Cell Website - simple and concise schools site, and the 3D images can be magnified and rotated. Each cell layer can be peeled away to give a more tangible idea of a cell than traditional textbooks can. There are also two useful animations for physics students, and attempts are underway to broaden the topics covered.
  • Cell Biology - the site includes streaming videos of (presumably) live cells doing their thing
  • blank Cells - Cells emerged in June 1995 as a project from a (then) ninth-grade biology class on which Carl - the site's creator - was enrolled. His assignment was to create a model of a cell - and HTML he says seemed to likely be more fun than pizza at the time. He gives us something of a guided tour of organelles, such as mitochondria, nuclei, Golgi bodies and the like as well as basic information about cell walls, the endoplasmic reticulum and membranes. Nothing more, nothing less. (30 March 2000) DB http://www.dcn.davis.ca.us/~carl/cellhome.htm
